What do you all think of this reversal of roles?

It used to be the government of the people was subject to scrutiny by the people in the US, with individual privacy considered the benchmark of the society with government openness the next hall mark. Now we see a reversal towards a government that can clify all its working and is accountable to no one and an increase of governmental access into our everyday lives with no recourse or controls, icluding warrants.
