Do you think the 2 strokes I had @ age 5 is the reason why people say my speech is choppy?

People say I talk very slow & choppy. I learned that when I took a speech & hearing diagnostic test. They told me that the strokes probably caused this. I think that might be a problem since I want to become a Spanish translator & interpreter, & when I speak Spanish, people say I sound slow & choppy, & they say I DON'T sound FLUID.
