Do you use the phrase" harp on the same string" in your daily life?

I am learning TOEFL, I saw this phrase in the book, I feel it is too long to be said in the daily life, so I want ask you, who use english everyday. If you just listened a lecture of a professer, which have nothing new information, will you say to your friend:" the professor harp on the same string."?
