What is the proper way to position yourself if you know your airbag is going to go off?

Is there any positions in the car that will cause less damage. If you are certain of a head on collision and know the airbag is going to go off, should you put your hands up to cover your face or down, turn your head, etc?? Is there any proper procedure?
