How much Longer Do you think i should wait?

My boyfriend asked me to give him space nearly a week ago after i asked if i had to be worried about one of his ex's and he took it as me accusing him of cheating. Its been nearly a week and as we work together its been difficult having to see him but not actually be with him, at work he is actin normal with me and talkin to me and joking on yet still seems to want space outside of work, im 19 and he is 36. how long do you think i should be giving him space for before i just call it a day. I do really love him but my head is all over the place because of this.
